WELGEVONDEN GAME RESERVE.
Sediba Luxury Safari Lodge is located within the undulating mountains of Welgevonden Game Reserve, one of South Africa’s premiere private game reserves.
Spreading over an area of 35 000+ hectares, the Reserve is situated within the globally recognised UNESCO Waterberg Biosphere Reserve, a haven for the sustainable conservation of biodiversity.
We offer two luxurious, all-suite lodges with 15 rooms. Separated by a short 10-minute drive, both Rock Lodge and Mountain Lodge offer a blissful environment for your stay.

Elegantly designed, Rock Lodge suites feature traditional African design with a contemporary finish. Rock Lodge features a natural rock pool on an expansive sundeck. Be treated to an on-demand refreshment service while you laze in your private built-in jacuzzi or unwind on the sun beds from your private viewing deck.
All Rock Suite lodges feature stunning views of the surrounding wilderness. Preference for an open-plan or closed bathroom can be stated upon booking. For the most authentic wilderness experience, there are no televisions in Rock Lodge Suites. Due to our remote location, the mobile phone coverage and Wi-Fi signal is sporadic.

Choose between four double suites and a spacious family suite replete with an unrivalled view of the Welgevonden mountainside. Mountain lodge features an infinity pool, sundeck and Boma dining area.
Our four premium Mountain Lodge suites feature en-suite jacuzzis. Come together at the end of a day well spent in the traditional African boma, where every dinner becomes a spectacular occasion under the stars.
Bookings at Mountain Lodge include an on-demand refreshment service and all lodges feature air-conditioning. For the most authentic wilderness experience, there are no televisions in Mountain Lodge suites. Due to our remote location, mobile phone coverage and Wi-Fi signal is sporadic.

HOW TO GET HERE

BY ROAD
BY AIR
From OR Tambo International Airport
Road transfers from OR Tambo International airport will transport you to Welgevonden Western Gate in 3,5 to 4 hours via a scenic drive on our national roads. Secure parking facilities are available for those travelers using private vehicles.
At the Western Gate you will be welcomed by our guides at the regular daily pick-up time (12h00) to be transferred to the lodge a short 25 minute
drive away.
For different transfer times there will be an extra charge of R750 per trip.
Please provide us with your arrival time when booking your reservation.
Directions from Welgevonden West Gate:
- From Johannesburg follow N1 to Pretoria/ Pietersburg.
- At the Kranskop Toll Gate take left hand gate option (Nylstroom/ Marble Hall). Travel through Nylstroom and drive 60km to Vaalwater.
- Go straight through Vaalwater approximately 24 km from Vaalwater on your left hand side is the Welgevonden Main Gate.
- Carry on past the Main Gate for approximately 22km until you come to Schoongelegen Road which is a gravel road. Turn left onto Schoongelegen Road and carry on for about 17km until you reach Welgevonden West Gate on your left hand side.
- At the Western Gate you will be welcomed by our rangers at regular pick-up times to be transferred to the lodge (30 minutes).
By Plane
Upon request, Sediba can arrange transfers to and from the lodge by private airplane.
A dedicated charter plane will transport you to the Welgevonden Game Reserve airstrip where open Land Cruiser await. Guests are welcomed with cocktails and snacks for the 20 minute trip to the lodge of choice.
By Helicopter
Sediba features a dedicated helicopter-landing pad on site.
Upon request, we can arrange transfers to and from the lodge by private helicopter.
